“Scum” is the first release from Australia’s Slug Guts third album Playin’ in Time With the Deadbeat. “Scum” grabs your attention by the shirt collar and doesn’t relent as it pulverizes you with its crashing cymbals and then proceeds to batter you with heavy percussion. When you think it’s over, that incessant guitar hook lingers in your bruised psyche for a while as you seek comfort in anything.
