tiff 12 Questions with Tiffany Page

1. Who are your musical influences?

Definitely bands that I grew up listening to such as REM, Neil Young and Carol King etc but that’s because my mum listens to those bands but I love Nirvana, Hole, L7 and Babes In Toyland.. My music doesn’t sound alike but these bands get me writing.

2. How do you describe your music to people?

Well I’d say ’Rock Pop’ people have been saying I’m a bit pretenders-ie’, also the other day Fearne Cotton said my new single ’on your head’ was a bit’chili peppers’ which I thought was cool….

3. What image do you think your music conveys?

I guess its about being a young woman and dealing with love and life but it’s mainly about boys heart ache and stuff…

4. What led you to make your first album and how did your ‘sound’ take hold?

Well I got my first guitar when I was 14 around the same time that I discovered nirvana and gruge/ rock music and I think I’ve always known I wanted to make a rock/pop album as its who I am, its what I’ve grown up listening to and felt most inspired by. Luckily my voice droped and got pretty husky around the same time so it suits the music. I love great lyrics and melodies and I worked really hard on my album I guess it was about making an album that I loved and felt proud of and hopefully everyone else will love it too.

5. What are your songs about?

I write about things that happen to me or the way I that I feel at a certain time. I wrote most of these songs to vent about things I was going through.
