Pavement : Quarantine The Past :: Review

ole 900 300x300 Pavement : Quarantine The Past :: ReviewCourtesy of their impending reunion tour, Pavement has compiled and remastered some of their favorite tracks into a semi-comprehensive greatest hits package.  “Quarantine The Past” spans a decade (1989-1999) with one of the best bands of the nineties and attempts to whittle their output into a 23 track compendium which is fair because it focuses on some of the deeper tracks.

This set is perfect for bargain hunters or for those looking for an easy entry into the world of Pavement.  Had there been some rarities on this disc, it might be more necessary for a collection.  For those with expansive budgets, I suggest buying the reissued, “Slanted and Enchanted” along with “Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain” for starters.  The reissues offer the rarities not on this compilation and feature enhanced sound as well.
