KEREN ANN, JOSEPH ARTHUR, CHRIS GARNEAU, ELYSIAN FIELDS, BAD REPUTATION AND MORE TO PLAY “HELP REBUILD HAITI” BENEFIT CONCERT AT CITY WINERY.

(March 22nd, New York City): City Winery today announced a new series of benefit concerts to help raise funds for the rebuilding efforts in Haiti. Over 1 million people have been homeless after the devastating earthquake that killed 200,000. While the initial relief efforts have brought much needed measures of emergency assistance, the efforts now focus on rebuilding the damaged infrastructure of Haiti. With the wet season fast approaching many Haitians are without significant and/or permanent shelter.

The new series of concerts “Help Rebuild Haiti” at City Winery, aims to become a regular event, and in keeping with the highly successful series of 4 concerts in January that raised over $100,000, all of the artists are donating their time and talent for this rebuilding effort. All proceeds of the first concert will be donated to Habitat For Humanity, which has been spearheading rebuilding initiatives in Haiti. By supplying emergency shelter kits, as well as sending rebuilding teams, Habitat For Humanity has be able to effect significant improvement in the lives of the homeless.

All proceeds of the concerts will be collected and donated before midnight March 31st, in order to take advantage of a donation-matching program that matches donations dollar for dollar. Attendance to the concert is only $15.00 per ticket, with the donor-matching program, the money that will be sent to Haiti will double to $30.00. With the notoriously damaging rainy season only a few weeks away, now is the time to help those struggling to secure adequate shelter.

Artists confirmed for the Help Haiti Rebuild concert include the talented pop-chanteuse Keren Ann, alt-art–rocker Joseph Arthur, who wraps up a 12 week residency, singer/songwriter Chris Garneau, indie darlings Elysian Fields, comprising Jennifer Charles and Oren Bloedow, the talented duo known as Dean & Britta, and the franco-american composer and singer Pierre de Gaillande, who will be showcasing his new project Bad Reputation. More artists are to be confirmed in the following days, so please visit www.citywinery.com for more details.
