The FADER/Southern Comfort 7-inch critically acclaimed series kicked off in 2006 with it’s first release that featured unreleased material by M Ward with My Morning Jacket’s Jim James on the A-Side and Canadian then-newcomer Ladyhawk on the B-Side. To date the series has released new music by Black Lips, YACHT, Little Boots, Dirty Projectors, Telepathe, Busy Signal, DJ Blaqstarr and Wavves among others. The FADER and Southern Comfort will continue this tradition of showcasing emerging artists by bringing 2009 to a close with the musical ingenuity of SALEM and Tanlines.

Midwestern trio SALEM grace the a-side with the track “Babydaddy,” showcasing their innovative blend of sad goth, blunted vocals and layered synthesizes. Flip the 45 for “S.A.W.” by Brooklyn’s Tanlines to woo you out of your SALEM induced daydream and swoop you into their hazy, sun-kissed twist with xylophones and warm drum machines.
