On December 24, Glen Hansard of the Swell Season was joined by fellow Irishmen Bono, Damien Rice and Mundy for a busking session on Dublin’s famed Grafton Street.  The impromptu performance raised money for Simon Community, an organization which serves Ireland’s homeless population.

The one hour set included Dylan’s ‘Knocking On Heaven’s Door’, Ben E. King’s ‘Stand By Me’ and Mic Christopher’s ‘Heyday,’ among others.  Several fans have posted excerpts on YouTube.

Grafton is also the street where Hansard’s character performs in the Oscar-winning film ‘Once,’ which co-stars his partner in the Swell Season, Marketa Irglova.
