Chet Zar : Lilith :: Copro Gallery
Mr. Zar writes,”This Saturday, Oct 3rd, will be the opening of my latest solo show, “Lilith” at Copro Gallery in Santa Monica, CA. This exhibition of 7 new paintings centers around the myth of Lilith, who was the “female Mesopotamian storm demon associated with wind and was thought to be a bearer of disease, illness, and death.” She is also considered to be the archetypal feminist, being the first wife of Adam who fled the Garden of Eden rather than succumb to Adam’s sexual dominance.
Also showing that night will be legendary collage artist Winston Smith. Smith is most well known for his album artwork for the Dead Kennedys.
Rachel Bess and Dark Vomit will also be showing.”
