jpeg DCs Roofwalkers Announce New Album

The band is also confirmed to play The Writer’s Center on Friday, September 18, 2009 as part of the ongoing series called Story Stereo.  This special event will pair 2 literary writers with Roofwalkers. Based in Bethesda, MD’s arts and entertainment center, The Writer’s Center is a non-profit community of writers supporting each other in the creation and marketing of literary texts as well as a location for hosting events, reading and conferences.  Please visit http://www.writer.org

Haunting the streets of our nation’s capital, this sextet crafts intricate and atmospheric guitar driven pop and rock, with narcotic melodies and subtle arrangements that win you over while you’re not looking. Roofwalkers was recorded between 2006 and 2008 at various locations including Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, VA. Production and engineering work was done by Chad Clark (Beauty Pill, Dismemberment Plan, Fugazi) and by band member, TJ Lipple (who is also in Aloha and Mary Timony’s new band, Soft Power).  Before changing their name from PAGODA to ROOFWALKERS, the band released both an LP (Dearly Departed) and an EP (Seven Nights), the latter of which was named as one of the Top 10 Favorite Local Albums of 2006 by the Washington Post. The new album is the first under the new moniker.
