Interpol’s Paul Banks is Julian Plenti is…Skyscraper
I guess I’m a bit of a party pooper. I read the last chapter in novels before I finish them. I read spoilers to movies prior to seeing them. I read too many reviews so it should come as no surprise that I’m spoiling Julian Plenti’s disguise. Julian Plenti is lead guitarist/singer/songwriter Paul Banks of Interpol’s alter ego. Banks trades under this alter ego occasionally and will release his debut “Julian Plenti Is…Skyscraper” on August 4th.
The album features contributions from guests including Ratatat’s Mike Stroud, Interpol’s Sam Fogarino, and Charles Burst of The Occasion. Judging by the cover of the album, you can tell Banks is in a festive mood. One of the cheerful tunes is posted below as a sort of teaser. Give the not so Interpol-like “Fun That We Have” a spin below.
