U2 : Magnificent :: Video Review
Fresh from fighting giant women in outer space, U2 return to Earth and end up playing on Persian rugs in a Moroccan courtyard. Apparently while they were away, an army of white sheets attacked the city. Is it me or is the band finally starting to show their age? Fashionistas will notice that Bono is looking as sharp as ever while stylishly displaying a new chinstrap beard {fashion sidenote} ( first sported by university white hats and frat rats about ten years ago.) Snarky commentary aside, “No Line On The Horizon’s” strongest and most overtly Christian themed song is presented with strangely subdued visuals which are almost nonexistant in the U2 video canon. Thankfully, Bono had a doppelganger in a red hoodie to liberate the suppressed Moroccan architecture. Maybe I’m cynical, but if Bono was portrayed as the emancipator that might be viewed as a bit too obvious.
