New Jose Gonzales Tour Dates
After releasing his album “In Our Nature” in 2007, Jose Gonzalez toured tirelessly. Now, after a touring break, he returns to North America to play a series of festival and headline shows throughout Canada and one U.S. date this summer. Gonzalez will be joined onstage by percussionist Andres Renterria and vocalist Joel Thbodeau (Death Vessel) on this tour.
“In Our Nature” – the follow-up to his critically lauded debut “Veneer” – was championed by Pitchfork
as having the “talent to make good on those lofty Pink Moon comparisons.” In addition to sold-out headline dates in every major market, Gonzalez performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’brien, and Jimmy Kimmel Live.
His live performances are widely praised: USA Today writes of his audience as a “rapt crowd smiling private smiles.” The New York Times call his performance “forceful.” Gonzalez has even been known to charm the toughest of audiences; “Boston’s rowdy college crowd paid Jose Gonzalez the highest compliment: the packed house stood silent and listened to him,” writes The Boston Herald in a live review.
In 2009 Gonzalez’ collaboration with The Books on Nick Drake’s “Cello Song” was released on the widely praised “Red, Hot & Indie” (4AD) album. Gonzalez has released two full-length albums on Mute, “Veneer” (2006) and “In Our Nature” (2007). He is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
