U2 : No Line On The Horizon

U2 will release their 12th album ‘No Line On The Horizon’ on Interscope Records this spring.  Following recording sessions in Fez, Dublin and New York, ‘No Line On The Horizon’ was originally supposed to be released in late 2008.  Unhappy with the finished product, U2 returned to the studio and retooled some of the recordings.  Tracks included are “Unknown Caller,” “Moment of Surrender” and the title track.

Early reports indicate this material is not as straight forward as their two previous releases, ‘All That You Can Leave Behind’ and ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.’  I’m not anticipating another “Achtung Baby” from these guys but hopefully an irony free return to form will be forthcoming.  A massive tour is also forthcoming due to their recent partnership with Livenation. “No Line On The Horizon” will be released on March 3, 2009 and is produced by Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois and Steve Lillywhite.
