Today marks the seventh anniversary of the death of George Harrison. (November 29, 2001) George Harrison was not only one of rock’s greatest guitarists and songwriters, he was also a film producer, author, gardener and was interested in auto racing.

He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Beatles and as a solo artist.

George Harrison released the very first triple album in rock history….”All Things Must Pass”. He was also the first rock musician to organize a major charity concert….”The Concert For Bangladesh”.

A gem of a song taken from the ‘Spooky Two’ album.  This appearance was filmed for German television’s music program Beat Club in 1969.  Check out the link, they have some obscure stuff!

Bruce Springsteen : Working On A Dream :: Review

Bruce Springsteen is cooking up some new songs for a new album in January.  The first single, “Working On A Dream” should appeal to his audience and not many others.  “Working On A Dream” is a middle of the road rocker full of doowop back up vocals and a typical Springsteen chorus.  Bruce Springsteen sounds lazy, he could write this one in his sleep.  The performance on this song sounds mechanical, like Springsteen is deciding to stick to his formula and never deviate.  It’s no wonder Bruce was called the “Rock and Roll Donovan” by Keith Richards.

The Killers : Day & Age :: Review

After listening to this mess I asked myself, “What is this shit?”  The Killers new album is a completely unbearable.  Following in the same path that was marked by ‘Sam’s Town,’ the Killers have fallen down a very slippery slope of excess and overproduction.  The Killers do not possess the chops to pull off chameleon like changes as their hero, David Bowie.  It seems they jump Read more

All I Intended To Be by Emmylou Harris

Emmylou Harris has really developed as a songwriter as evidenced by the six songs she either wrote or co-wrote on this cd.

Beautiful background vocals are provided by Dolly Parton and Vince Gill on “Gold” and Kate and Anna McGarrigle.

What I enjoyed most about “All I Intended To Be” is Emmylou’s beautiful vocals which just improve with age.

Scott Weiland is back!  Well, he’s returned to his solo recording career after Velvet Revolver imploded.  On ‘Happy In Galoshes’ Scott Weiland mines the glam and hard rock sound of his previous solo album, ‘12 Bar Blues’ while incorporating poppier elements into the mix.  Opener “Missing Cleveland” sounds like a mash up between T-Rex and David Bowie, while “Tangle With Your Mind” sounds like somebody Read more
