RIP : Rudy Ray Moore 1927-2008
It is with a heavy heart that I write about the passing of the “articulate pimp” Rudy Ray Moore. Moore passed away from complications to diabetes on October 19, 2008. Moore is widely known as the creator of characters “Dolemite” and “Petey Wheatstraw.” Moore was also known as the king of party records and his comedic style was often considered more raunchy than Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor. He will be greatly missed.
