The new Mogwai EP “Bat Cat” was released today and it is tremendous.  The EP features three tracks ranging from a noisy, thrashy psyche-tinged gem, “Bat Cat” to the almost ambient “Stupid P**k Gets Chased By The Police and Loses His S**t Girlfriend.”  The last track “Devil Rides” features a spectral Roky Erickson singing along to a shoe gaze backdrop.  This EP is an excellent precursor to Mogwai’s next release, “The Hawk Is Howling.”
