Guns N’ Roses : Shackler’s Revenge : Review

guns n roses shacklers revenge 300x276 Guns N Roses : Shacklers Revenge : Review

Guns N’ Roses is back!!!  Well, sort of.  Axl Rose is back in this track that has been leaked to the internet numerous times and which serves as the new single to the long awaited album, “Chinese Democracy.”  For the review of this track, I was tempted to post a picture of a train wreck; I took the higher ground and endured all 3:13 for you, music aficionado.  Taking a nod from industrial music, Axl intones in a gravelly voice that, “I have a funny feeling that something is wrong today and it won’t go away.”  In the chorus Axl states he doesn’t want anyone to care for him, throughout the remainder of the song. The main guitar riff to this song is exceptionally cheesy, almost like an even dirgier “Dragula” from Rob Zombie.

If this track was released maybe 17 years ago, it might be relevant as a Guns N’ Roses song. This song would have been a bit of a curio in a Guns N’ Roses evolution of sound type thing. In 2008, it sounds like a musical train wreck.  I don’t think any of the Wax-Trax artists would come near this thing with a ten-foot pole even as a b-side.  So when Chinese Democracy is eventually released, you can look forward to hearing this track as it’s meant to be heard.  As for now, try to check it out on Youtube before they remove it.
