Down is the new Up

The mighty clock of time is winding down on many once hip websites. All good things come to an end and the end is nigh for several sites. Once avatars of all things cool, and noteworthy; these sites have spiraled into a vortex of self-parody and ineffectiveness. These web dinosaurs are facing an imminent demise along with the funny buzzwords and catch phrases that they have spawned. Below are 4 sites that have completely outlived their usefulness.

4. Perezhilton.com – Need I say any more? This self-serving paparazzo’s site has the intelligence factor of a jaded 6th grader. Am I jealous that an obnoxious blogger with very little skills other than being a tattletale became a success by exposing the nether regions of d-list celebrities became a millionaire? Maybe.

3. EntertainmentWeekly.com – Oh, this waste of music sites. How I will bid you and your stellar reviews of the new Arcade Fire records goodbye in the cutout bins of the Internet. When this site finally acknowledges the fact that they need to hire someone over the age of 19 to review records, I’ll take their reviews seriously. For further proof that this site is in trouble, check out their best 100 albums of 2007.

2. I-mockery.com – I’m just not that nostalgic for the 1980’s or early 1990’s anymore. Maybe I am really old and decrepit, but the pickle man concept is not funny. This site is on overload as well. Too hard on the eyes, and much like a hyperactive 8 year old with his hands in his pants.

1. Ain’t-It-Cool-News. com – Once upon a time there was a film geek that provided tidbits about new films that were in production. This film geek also gave scoops and spoilers to those who were hungry for entertainment news. Now more of an advertising test market site, it’s time to bid Harry adieu. Product placement and friends take the forefront of what was once a guilty pleasure. Lost in a sea of retarded stupidity, this site really needs to make a reservation for the where are they now files.
